Tasting notes
Nose: The nose is still a little closed but reveals hints of cherry, lightly floral some torrefaction. Nuances of marzipan.
Palate: The taste is supple and rich. Good balance with fine structure, leaving a good impression of fruit on the finish.

Origins
The "la Mazière" plot borders the Route des Grands Crus to the north of the village and covers an area of 2.2 hectares.
Its name comes from the Latin "MACERIAE", which referred to dry stone enclosure walls; over time, the meaning has changed somewhat, taking on the meaning of ruins, piles of material from collapsed buildings. It can therefore be assumed that there were once dwellings and/or walls adjacent to the plot, which gave it its name when they fell into disrepair.
Vinification and maturing
Date of harvest: 05th September 2011.
Vinification in wooden vats followed by maturing in oak barrels for 10 months (25% new oak).
Vintage : 2011
The year experienced unusual weather patterns which led to a very early harvest. In fact, the unpredictable conditions were sometimes quite extreme: a superb dry Springtime, a rainy Summer followed by a beautiful Autumn - which led to this crucial early harvest date. Red 2011 Burgundies are generally very elegant wines, quite silky with great finesse with aroma and taste.
