Chablis
Chablis
This is the northernmost of Burgundy’s wine-growing areas and takes its name from the village of the same name, located 150 km south-east of Paris and 150 km north-west of Dijon and Beaune.
Chablis, the « golden gateway to Burgundy », is the land of choice for great white wines in which Chardonnay expresses itself with remarkable minerality and freshness. The unique Kimmeridgian soil and the specific climate of northern Burgundy enhance Chardonnay and give it undeniable nobility.
The vineyards of this region cover 4,500 hectares divided into four appellation levels: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru and Chablis Grand Cru.
