Côte Chalonnaise
Côte Chalonnaise
A natural extension of the Côte de Beaune, the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise stretch over 3,800 hectares and 25 kilometres from north to south, around Chalon-sur-Saône (50,000 inhabitants), 20 kilometres south of Beaune.
The vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise cling to hillsides with various aspects, dotted with meadows, fields and copses. The villages and Premier Crus of the four main appellations produce great white and red wines with very distinct personalities: Mercurey, Rully, Givry and Montagny, the only village producing white wines only.
